Sushant Singh Rajput made his film debut in 2013 with the buddy drama Kai Po Che! He managed to tap into his characters like a pro in his first film. For his flawless acting chops in his debut film, he received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. After that he starred in the romantic comedy Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) and as the titular detective in the action thriller Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015). His highest-grossing releases came with a supporting role in the satire PK (2014), followed by the titular role in the sports biopic M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016). His performance as Dhoni gained for him critical and commercial acclaim. After winning zillion hearts by portraying Dhoni, he went on to star in the commercially successful films Kedarnath (2018) and Chhichhore (2019).


Undeniably, his death came as a huge shocker for the whole world and for the entire film industry too. The most versatile and humble actor was found hanging at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020. He was reportedly battling depression. His untimely death has not only taken the entire film industry by a storm but also his zillion fans all around the world. His Post-mortem reports confirmed no foul play in his death and the cause of death stated in both his autopsy reports is ‘asphyxia due to hanging’. But his near and dear ones and his fans claim that professional rivalry was the main root cause that instigated him to take his own life.
